Introduction
The law affects every single citizen, and sometimes negatively. This project will examine the consequences of wrongful convictions in criminal cases and how this influences prosecutorial and police misconduct and how this can sometimes even lead to false confessions. My goal is examine how this impacts lives, of not only those who are brutally and wrongfully ripped away from their families, but of the families themselves. Other goals involve, taking a deeper look into the justice system and what causes these wrongful convictions. One mistake can ruin so many lives forever, how can we prevent this?

Why do you think that professionals like law enforcement officers and prosecutors would use forced confessions or questionable evidence?
ReplyDeleteHi Mr. Curtice! Thanks for reading :) Everyone has their own agenda, whether it is to get a promotion, or to climb to the top of their ranks at their job. Prosecutors would use forced confessions to have the case closed faster, or to promote themselves and be considered as someone who convicted the "evil monster" (suspect). Police officers might turn in questionable evidence, so it seems like they helped a prosecutor close a case, thus giving the police officer perks and maybe even a job promotion. Hopefully this answers your question!
